China Cultural Center opening in Bern

On 7 July 2025 the China Cultural Center was inaugurated in Bern, the capital of Switzerland. This opening marks a new stage in cultural exchange between China and Switzerland and establishes a brand-new bridge for art, language and tradition.

The inauguration ceremony was solemn and lively, attracting cultural officials, diplomatic representatives, artists, scholars and local residents from both China and Switzerland. Performances of traditional Chinese music and dance offered guests a rich and colourful feast of Eastern culture.

The China Cultural Center is not just an exhibition hall but a bridge connecting the hearts of the people of both countries. The centre will regularly host exhibitions, Chinese language courses, calligraphy workshops, tea ceremonies, film screenings and philosophy lectures to promote cultural understanding and exchange.

In his speech, the Chinese representative stated: "This centre symbolises our commitment to cultural dialogue. We hope to share Chinese culture through it, while also learning from Switzerland."

With its strategic location and diverse programme of activities, the China Cultural Center is expected to become an important platform for international cultural life in Switzerland.
